Angel Fire Course

The race will consist of 3 distance options: 50 km,  50 mile, or 100 mile.

 Aid is easy to mile 3, 6, 9, and 12.5 mile turn around. Runners will return back on the out course and head back to start/finish.   After 1 loop, the 50K runners return  to first aid at 3 mile and go back to lodge to finish.

50 milers run 2 full loops of the course, while 100 milers do 4 laps with easy crew @ 3 miles and, 12.5 mile aid station.

The race will start at The Lodge at Angel Fire Resort, at 5:00 am. Runners will proceed NW, following Course markings to the S. Angel Fire Road. Look both ways before crossing Rd 434, and continuing southwesterly to Monte Verde Lake trail ( 3 Mile manned aide).

The next section will cover Lady Slipper trail into the Carson National Forest. The trail will pass the Osha Meadow (6 mile unmanned aid ) , and connect with Elliot Barker trail south until reaching South Boundry trail. (9 mile unmanned aid)

Runners will turn east on South Boundry trail and connect with FS 76, proceeding northerly to 76er TURN AROUND TENT ( 12.5 mile , manned aid, drop bags )

The trail is widely used not only for hiking but also mountain biking and horseback riding in the warm weather months and snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in winter. Runners  on this trail can expect to have excellent views–weather permitting–of Eagle Nest Lake, Moreno Valley and Wheeler Peak Wilderness, according to the Carson National Forest website. Runners also may encounter a variety of wildlife, including bear, coyote, deer and elk.

There are 3 manned, fully stocked aid stations ( MAS ) and 2 unmanned stations with water and sportsdrink ( UMAS ) alone the course at strategic points to allow for minimal impact on the runners and on the course.

Pacers will be allowed to join the 100 mile runners after completing the second loop or 50 miles. Please bring adequate personal flashlights.

Finshers will be awarded with a custom crafted buckle to commemorate the event.

No refund or transfers after acceptance.
